About Me
I create paintings inspired by the natural world and the places that linger in our memory. Quiet trails through the woods, rolling Tennessee farmland and mountain landscapes are often a source for my inspiration . My work is rooted in a love for travel and a deep connection to nature, offering a moment of peace in a busy world. Through soft textures and muted color, I aim to capture the scene and the emotion it brings me.
I paint from places I’ve visited while others are from my imagination and a growing list of destinations I hope to experience one day. I love to plan travel itineraries and learn about each and every destination. Painting is just another part of that journey.
When I become an empty nester, I craved a change for myself. As a creative, I had always been interested in learning to paint and realized the timing was perfect. I spent 2 years reads, watching videos, taking classes, and practicing before launching my art into the world. As a self-taught artist, I work primarily in oil, drawn to its softness, depth, and ability to reflect light. My process is intuitive, building layers and allowing the art to evolve over time.Â
